GREATER KUDU

Antelope
Eastern and Southern African woodlands and savannah
Conservation status: Least concern, population stable

One of the largest species of antelope, along with the giant eland. Bulls can weigh 450-600 lbs. Solitary predators such as leopards and cheetahs do not hunt adult males, but may prey on females and young. Kudu horns are highly valued and used to make musical instruments.
